How long can I borrow resources for?

NQTs can borrow resources from the council's Resource Centre for 30 days, including two renewals.

What courses should I be attending?

Hampshire's full NQT training programme is offered to Isle of Wight NQTs. These courses are delivered on the mainland in Hampshire. details can be found in the Resources section on NQT Manager.

There are also NQT courses delivered on the Island, although these may not cover the full range of topics required. To learn more go to www.iwight.com/trainingcourses

NQTs should discuss training with their Induction tutor. The Hampshire programme is separately chargeable. Isle of Wight courses are free to NQTs, regardless of their school's subscription.

What should my Induction tutor be doing?

Your Induction tutor is there to support or co-ordinate support for you throughout your induction - a tutor training course is available on the Island each year in September, or there are termly courses available on the mainland. In addition, more guidance is available for Tutors and Headteachers in the Tutor handbook, available in the Resources on NQT Manager.

Who is responsible for booking the courses?

NQTs, although this should be done further to discussions with the tutor.
